Susie Beame - Where to Next?!

During this Cert.IV Design Course, I have already explored a number of different disciplines and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of each.  There have already been a number of challenges along and way and some of my expectations have not been realised.

When considering further study I am restricted to reasonably close to where I live as of course my family is my priority.  But further study is also important.

On completion of this current course, Cert. IV of Design, I will apply for the Cert IV Foundation Graphic Design here at Kingscliff Tafe and complete the Diploma in the second year. There may be some modules completed this year that can be RPL for the Foundation of Graphic Design next year.

Diploma of Graphic Design and Communication

Offered at Kingscliff Tafe 2010

National Code: 91457NSW
Course No: 19211
Nominal Hours: 1470

Applications close October 2009

Student Selection:
SELECTION METHOD: Selection into this course will be based on the
information provided on the TAFE NSW Application Form, the results from an
aptitude test and the submission of a portfolio.

The TAFE NSW fee for 2009 for this course is $1214, or if the course only runs
for one semester, the TAFE NSW fee is $607. I assume for 2010 may cost slightly more.

Another option I am feeling drawn to is Interior Design.

Gold Coast Institute of TAFE offer Diploma of Interior Technology (39225QLD) and is a full time course over 2 years.  The full cost for 2009 is $2,288 per year.

Students should apply through QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre)

The first half of the diploma is design and documentation of residential interiors. Learners who choose to exit the Diploma of Interior Technology may, upon request, be issued with the Certificate IV in Interior Technology provided competency has been achieved in specified units. The second half of the program is design and documentation of commercial (office and retail) interiors.

I may be able to obtain recognition for your work or previous study under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current competencies (RCC) process.
